BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - After opening the season on a 12-game road trip, the Illinois Wesleyan University baseball team welcomes University of Wisconsin Oshkosh for a three-game series beginning Friday, March 20, at Jack Horenberger Field. IWU brings its 1-11 record into the game, as UW-Oshkosh puts its 3-4 mark on the line in the 3 p.m. contest.

IWU comes home after a disappointing spring break series against Spalding, dropping all three games. Junior John Phillip Ferraro (Oak Park, Ill.-Oak Park River Forest) was a bright spot in Louisville, going three-for-six with a pair of RBI's. On the season, Ferraro leads the team in batting average at .395 and shares the team-high in hits with 17. Sophomore AJ Weller (Geneseo, Ill.-Geneseo) is hitting .370 in his first year as a Titan and is the owner of 17 hits and seven RBI's. Senior Jack Flagg (Oak Park, Ill.-Oak Park River Forest) is slugging his way aboard this year with a .596 slugging percentage thanks to a pair of home runs and a team-high five doubles.

UW-Oshkosh entered last week ranked No. 24 in the d3baseball.com poll, but a couple of losses to Webster University and Milwaukee School of Engineering saw it drop out of the poll. UWO owns wins over Concordia Moorhead, Concordio Chicago, and Hanover University. 

IWU and UWO reignite a series that was last played over 20 years ago in 2002. UW-Oshkosh took the 2002 contest in 3-0 fashion, which was played in Memphis, Tenn. The Green and White have lost 11 straight to UW-Oshkosh, winning the inaugural game between the two in 1992. 8-3, IWU and UWO have never met in Bloomington and have played in Oshkosh just once. In 12 matchups, IWU and UW-Oshkosh have met in Tennessee, Arkansas, and opened the series in St. Louis Mo. in 1993. Head coach Michael Kellar has never faced UWO. UW-Oshkosh has outscored Illinois Wesleyan 111 runs to just 50 runs in the 12 games.
