LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team won its third team title of the season, topping the field at the Southwest Minnesota State University Classic, hosted at the 5,631-yard, par-70 Wigwam Resort Golf Course in Litchfield Park, Arizona. The Titans fired a final round 24-over 304 for a two-day total 603 to tie with Nebraska Kearney. IWU won the tiebreaker over the Lopers, recording a lower second round team score. Sophomore Gigi Zera (Glenview, Ill.-Loyola Academy) earned the first individual victory of her career.

Zera used an eagle on her third hole of the day to extend her individual lead and never looked back. The Glenview, Ill. native's final round five-over-par, 75, paired with her even-par 70 yesterday, combined for a two-day, career-best total of 145. The one-shot victory marked the first of Zera's career.

Sophomore Grace Fagan (Kirkwood, Mo.-Visitation Academy) recorded her third top-15 finish of the season. Fagan fired rounds of 75 and 76 for a 36-hole total of 151 to finish tied for 10th. Freshman Julia Henry (Homewood, Ill.-Homewood-Flossmoor) also placed in the top-15, recording a two-day total of 152 for an 11th-place finish.

The Titans enjoy a weekend off before returning to the Midwest for the WashU Spring Invite, Sunday-Monday, March 29-30. The 36-hole tournament will be contested at Crown Pointe Golf Club in Farmington, Mo.
