Men’s Tennis Lifts Spring Lid Against St. Francis

First meeting between the teams since 2018

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.- The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team opens its spring slate against the University of St. Francis (Ill.), Sunday, Feb. 8. Action from Lockport, Ill. is scheduled for 10 a.m.

In the fall, the Titans closed out their schedule at the ITA Regional where seniors Ian Turnbull (Bloomington, Ill. - Bloomington) and Griffin Hammond (Metamora, Ill.- Metamora) made a run to the consolation finals. 

Turnbull and Hammond are joined by fellow seniors Ben Vigneri (Casper, Wyo.-Phillips Exeter Academy), and Sebastian Rasquin (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South). Juniors Thad Dillow (Effingham, Ill.-Effingham) and Chase Tomecki (Downers Grove, Ill.-Downers Grove South) round out the upperclassmen. Freshmen Truman Raher (Peoria, Ill.-Richwoods), Will Ehrlich (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood), and Jesus Avalos (Peoria, Ill.-Richwoods) are set to make their spring debuts.

St. Francis went 0-1 in the fall, dropping a dual to Quincy University. In 2025, the Saints finished at 0-9.

The Titans and the Saints last met, Feb. 10, 2018 with St. Francis prevailing 9-0. The Saints have won the last two meetings against IWU.
