Men’s Tennis Takes on Monmouth and Principia in Triangular

IWU seeks first 5-0 start since 2010-11

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.- The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team ventures to Galesburg, Ill. for a triangular against Monmouth College and Principia College. IWU will play Monmouth at 9 a.m. before concluding its day against Principia at 1 p.m.

The Titans (3-0) are coming off of a triangular sweep with wins over Franklin College and Webster University, Saturday, Feb. 14. Against the Grizzlies, the Green and White swept the doubles points with wins from seniors Ian Turnbull (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) and Ben Vigneri (Casper, Wyo.-Phillip Exeter), junior Thad Dillow (Effingham, Ill.-Effingham) and senior Griffin Hammond (Metamora, Ill.-Metamora Township), and freshmen Will Ehrlich (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood) and Truman Raher (Peoria, Ill.-Richwoods). In singles action, IWU collected wins from Turnbull, Vigneri and Hammond. In the second match of the day against Webster, Illinois Wesleyan swept the singles slate, beginning with a win from Turnbull at No. 1 singles, followed  by Vigneri, Dillow, Hammond, Ehrlich, and Raher.

Monmouth begins their spring slate after a 1-3 fall. IWU has won the last three over the Fighting Scots including a 7-0 victory, Mar. 22, 2025. In the same meet, IWU dropped a 4-3 decision to Principia, who this season, sits at 0-1 after falling to Hendrix College, Friday, Feb. 13, 6-1.
