Men’s Golf Heads to Indy for Wabash Fall Invite

Four of the top-six teams nationally included in field

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The fall season continues with a trip to Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis as the No. 5 Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team competes in the Wabash Fall Invitational Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 5-6. The tournament, which will be played on the par-72, 6904-yard course, will feature four of the top-six ranked teams nationally. 

The 54-hole tournament features No. 2 Kenyon, No. 3 Emory, fifth-ranked IWU, and No. 6 Carnegie Mellon along with Denison, Ohio Wesleyan, Rose-Hulman, Millikin, Webster, Hope, DePauw, Franklin, and Wabash. 

Illinois Wesleyan will field two teams in the tournament with junior Pablo Castro (Palatine, Ill.-Palatine), sophomores Ryan Andrews (Libertyville, Ill.-Libertyville) and Ben Gelven (St. Louis, Mo.-Mary Institute and Country Day School), and freshmen Finley Tyrrell (LaGrange, Ill.-Lyons Township) and Sam Uutala (Barrington, Ill.-Barrington) making up the 'A' team. Sophomores Alex Rollman (Cincinnati, Ohio-Turpin), Antonio Gutierrez (Elk Grove Village, Ill.-Conant), Hunter Whitney (Deerfield, Ill.-Deerfield), Kevin Schuh (Glenview, Ill.-Glenbrook South), and Tyler Short (Lake Geneva, Wis.-Big Foot) will play as the 'B' team. 

Action is scheduled to begin with a 9 a.m. ET shotgun start Monday, Oct. 5. Live scoring will be available via Clippd, while results will be posted to iwusports.com following the completion of each day.
