Men’s Wrestling to Start Season at Luther Hill Invitational

Action begins at 9 a.m.

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.- The Illinois Wesleyan University men's wrestling team opens the 2026-27 season at the Luther Hill Invitational hosted by Simpson College, Sunday, Nov. 1. Action from Indianola, Iowa, is scheduled for 9 a.m.

IWU returns 16 wrestlers from the 2025-26 season, including senior Austin Johnston (Normal, Ill.-Normal West), who finished sixth at the NCAA Division III Region VI meet after eclipsing 50 career wins a season ago.

Illinois Wesleyan also returns sophomore Tyson Zvonar (Frankfort, Ill.-Lincoln-Way East), who in his inaugural campaign, earned third place and all-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honors, along with an eighth-place finish at the regional meet. Sophomores Brady Mouser (Bloomington, Ill.-Tri-Valley) and Trey Dunning (Mishawaka, Ind.-Mishawaka) look to build off of placements at the CCIW meet in their second season.

The Titans are expected to send four wrestlers to Indianola this weekend. Zvonar and Mouser at 133-pounds are joined by sophomore Jeremiah Austin (Jefferson City, Mo.-Capital City), who will make his first appearance in the 157-pound weight class after primarily wrestling at 149 as a freshman. Sophomore Dylan McGrew (Normal, Ill.-Normal West) rounds out the IWU lineup at 125 pounds.
