NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Coming off a win in which it dominated in all three phases of the game, the Illinois Wesleyan University football team saw junior punter Matt Worthington (Lake Zurich, Ill.-Lake Zurich) voted the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Special Teams Player of the Week Monday, Oct. 12. The league office's announcement marks the second career honor for Worthington and the sixth weekly award by a Titan this season.

Worthington continued to show why he is the top punter in the conference at Carroll, Oct. 10. The junior was called upon just twice in a 44-7 rout of the Pios but made both boots worth it. Worthington posted punts of 67 and 66 yards, good for an average of 66.5 yards per punt. The two boots rank first and second-longest, respectively, across the CCIW this season. For the season, he leads the conference at 44.9 yards per punt. Worthington also paces the CCIW with seven punts of 50+ yards and ranks second with seven punts inside the 20.

Worthington and the Titans travel down US-51 for a battle with the Big Blue of Millikin University Saturday night, Oct. 17. Kickoff will be under the lights at Frank M. Lindsay Field at 6 p.m.
