BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball team moved up two spots into 13th in the D3hoops.com Top-25 released Monday night, Jan. 19. IWU garnered 298 points in the seventh edition of the poll this season.
The Green and White played just one game last week, defeating Wheaton College in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin action Saturday, Jan. 17. The Titans took down the Thunder in the suburbs, 80-61, to improve to 13-3 overall and 5-2 in league play.
Overall, the poll saw minimal movement in the top half as the first nine spots remained unchanged. Trinity (Conn.) topped the poll with 625 points, while Chicago (581) and Emory (562) rounded out the top-three. Mount Union's 545 points were good for fourth, with Randolph-Macon fifth at 522 points.
Illinois Wesleyan is the lone College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin program listed in the rankings. The Titans hold wins over No. 2 Chicago, No. 16 UW-Oshkosh, and No. 18 WashU.
IWU returns to the Shirk Center Wednesday night, Jan. 21, for a battle with the Big Blue of Millikin University. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and will see the IWU women's volleyball team recognized at halftime.
