BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball team moved to 15th in the most recent iteration D3hoops.com Top-25 poll, released Monday night, Jan.12. IWU ventured up from 18th to 15th with 241 points.
The Titans sit 12-3 on the season and second in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin race at 4-2. Illinois Wesleyan claimed two key CCIW home victories over Augustana College, 88-79, on Wednesday, Jan. 3 and North Park University, 79-59, Saturday, Jan. 10. IWU was led by senior Karlo Colak (Glencoe, Ill.-New Trier), who averaged 19 points in the Titans' two wins.
Unbeaten Trinity (Conn.) claimed the top spot in the poll once again with 24 first-place votes and 624 points. Chicago jumped to the second spot in this week's poll with 581 points, with the Maroons sole loss coming at the hands of the Titans. Emory (570), undefeated Mount Union (537), and Randolph-Macon (505) rounded out the top-five.
The Green and White enjoy the Wednesday bye before traveling to King Arena Saturday, Jan. 17 for a CCIW battle with Wheaton College. Tipoff is set for 7:15 p.m. and will serve as the back half of a doubleheader with the Titan women's team.
