Women’s Golf Completes 36 Holes at Redbird Invite

Final round set for Monday, Sept. 8

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team completed rounds one and two of the Redbird Invitational hosted by Illinois State University, at Weibring Golf Club, Sunday, Sept. 7. After rounds of 311 and 306 on the 6169-yard, par-72 course, the 15th-ranked Titans sit in ninth place, ahead of seven Division I opponents.

South Dakota ranks atop the leaderboard at nine-over (585), while Butler (589) and Bowling Green (590) are four and five shots behind the Coyotes, respectively. Butler's Treva Dodd leads the individual leaderboard at two-under par.

Junior Emily Gastrau (Wauwatosa, Wis.-Wauwatosa East) led the way for the Green and White, posting back-to-back rounds of 75. Gastrau currently sits in 23rd place. Sophomore Gigi Zera (Glenview, Ill.-Loyola Academy) posted the low round of the day for the Titans, recording a one-over round of 73 in the second 18 to hold a share of 32nd.

The final round is slated for tomorrow, Sept. 8, with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
