Women’s Soccer Set to Take on Illinois College

Titans seeking first win of the season

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team will hit the road for the first time this season to take on non-conference opponent Illinois College Saturday, Sept. 6. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Jacksonville, Ill.

The Titans are coming off of a tough loss to No. 1 WashU this past Tuesday, Sept. 2. Sophomore Vanessa Gray (Burlington, Ontario, Canada, Dr. Frank J. Hayden) recorded nine saves in the first 45 minutes in her first career start at goalkeeper. Freshman Lauren Watson (Southaven, Miss.-Saint Mary's Episocpal) played the second period in goal for the Titans, recording four saves. 

Illinois College is 2-0-1 on the young season, most recently battling to a scoreless draw at Augustana College Wednesday, Sept. 3. 

Illinois Wesleyan leads the overall series record 8-1. Saturday will serve as the first meeting between the Titans and Lady Blues since the 2017 season which saw the Green and White pick up a 3-0 victory in Jacksonville.
