Zera’s Top-Five Finish Leads Titans at UWW Fall Invite

MADISON, Wis. - The No. 12 Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team finished third in the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Fall Invite Monday, Sept. 29 at the par-72, 5680-yard TPC Wisconsin. The Titans recorded a final round 322, posting a two-day score of 647.

Fourth-ranked Pomona-Pitzer brought home the victory in the 17-team field after posting a two-over 290 in the final round. The Sagehens' Ann Zhao shot a one-under par 71 in her final 18 to secure the individual victory.

Sophomore Gigi Zera (Glenview, Ill.-Loyola Academy) was IWU's top finisher, picking up the fourth top-five placement of her career. Zera turned in the Titans' best round of the tournament, a final round one-over 73, to earn a share of fourth.

Junior Nora Cerroni (Waukesha, Wis.-Waukesha North) and senior Brooke Erhard (Champaign, Ill.-St. Thomas More) also collected top-25 finishes. Cerroni tied for 14th with a two-day total of 160, while Erhard's final round 77 catapulted her into a tie for 22nd.

The Titans return to action for the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship Monday-Wednesday, Oct. 6-8, at Metamora Field Golf Course in Metamora, Ill.
