MADISON, Wis. - Junior Nora Cerroni (Waukesha, Wis.-Waukesha North) and sophomore Gigi Zera (Glenview, Ill.-Loyola Academy) have the 12th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team sitting in fifth-place at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Fall Invite after opening round play Sunday, Sept. 28. The Titans carded a score of 325 on the par-72, 5680-yard TPC Wisconsin.

Cerroni holds a share of third-place individually. She fired a three-over 75 after going one-under over her final eight holes of the day. The junior picked up birdies on holes five, 15, and 16 as IWU's top scorer on the day. Two strokes back, Zera is tied for seventh following a five-over 77.

Pomona-Pitzer holds a sizable lead in the 17-team field after posting a seven-over 295. The Sagehens' Ann Zhao and Annabelle Chan powered Pomona-Pitzer with a pair of even-par 72s to sit tied atop the 93-player leaderboard. UW-Stout (312) ranks second, with Aurora (323), Dubuque (324), and IWU (325) in a tight race at third through fifth, respectively.
