Men’s Tennis Completes Day One of ITA Regional

Action resumes tomorrow morning

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis completed the first day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional, hosted by Kalamazoo College, Friday, Sept. 26.

In doubles, seniors Ian Turnbull (Bloomington, Ill. - Bloomington) and Griffin Hammond (Metamora, Ill.- Metamora) dropped their opening round match to Greenville University's Jade Dynamic and Francisco Trujillo Garcia, 8-5. They will take on Jacob and Josh Doyle of Albion College, Saturday, Sept. 27 in the consolation round of 16. First serve is scheduled for 8 a.m.

In singles play, Turnbull fell in his round of 128 match to North Central College's Rafael Lessa, 6-4. 6-3. Up next, the Bloomington native faces off against Joao Henrique Nassar from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the consolation round of 32 at 12 p.m.

Junior Thad Dillow (Effingham, Ill. - Effingham) was defeated by Caleb Bartels of Calvin University, 6-0, 6-1. He resumes action tomorrow in the consolation round of 32 against Alma College's Jake Lasceki at 1 p.m.
