Women’s Volleyball Ranked Seventh in AVCA Poll

Titans record best ranking in program history

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's volleyball team unlocked another program-best in the storied start to the season, as the Titans checked in at No. 7 with one first-place vote in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Poll, announced by the organization Tuesday, Sept. 23. The ranking is the best in program history, and adds to the team's record-setting start of 11-0. 

La Verne checks in as the top team in the poll, receiving 74 first-place votes. East Texas Baptist is second behind four first-place nods, followed by UW-Oshkosh, UW-Whitewater, and WashU. Johns Hopkins sits ahead of the Titans at No. 6.

Illinois Wesleyan is one of two teams ranked in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. Carthage cracks the rankings tied for 25th after being the top team in the receiving votes category a week ago. 

The Green and White travels to Hope College for two top-25 matches Saturday, Sept. 27. IWU faces No. 14 Marietta at 10:30 a.m. ET before closing its weekend with a 1:30 p.m. ET bout against 18th-ranked Hope.
