FULTON, Mo. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team upped its win streak to four Wednesday night, Sept. 17, at Westminster College in Fulton, Mo. Four Titans scored in a 4-1 win, advancing Illinois Wesleyan's record to 4-2-0, while the Blue Jays fall to 2-3-0.

Illinois Wesleyan had several chances in the first half, recording seven shots on goal, but sophomore Keira Robinson (Bloomington, Ind.-Bloomington South) was the first Titan to capitalize. A cross from junior Sophie Lampert (Hudson, Ill.-Normal West) found a flashing Wiley in the box, who booted a soft shot past the Westminster goalkeeper in the 28th minute to put the Green and White ahead 1-nil.

Westminster regrouped during the halftime break, charged downfield in the 49th minute, and scooted a ball past a diving Vanessa Gray (Burlington, Ontario, Canada-Dr. Frank J. Hayden) to tie up the score 1-1.

However, the Green and White refocused after the Westminster score, as less than two minutes later, a Titan throw-in put the ball at the six. After bouncing on several Titan and Blue Jay heads, senior Bree Cordray (Bloomington, Ill.-University High) gained control in the box and scored the third goal of her career to give the Titans a 2-1 advantage.

The Titans continued their attack after a Westminster goal kick was returned to midfield by the Green and White. Robinson kicked the ball towards the middle of the field to a charging Liza Wiley (Bloomington, Ind.-Home School) in the 62nd minute. The sophomore kicked it over the Westminster wall of defenders and into the feet of Lampert who corralled the pass, juked a Blue Jays defender, and found the back of the net to up the Titan lead to 3-1.

Illinois Wesleyan stayed on the Blue Jay side of the field for most of the second half, giving itself several opportunities to add to their lead. In the 80th minute, the Titans passed around the box, finally finding the feet of sophomore Emily Kunzer (Elburn, Ill.-Kaneland). Kunzer spun around her defender in the goal box and scooted the ball past the Westminster goalie. The Green and White enjoyed a 4-1 lead the remainder of the game.

Gray spent 82 minutes in goal, recording a pair of saves before sophomore Ella Randall (San Francisco, Calif.-The Bay School of San Francisco) stepped in goal to finish the game. Illinois Wesleyan recorded 10 shots on goal to the Blue Jays 3.

The Titans continue to the last stop of their road trip on Saturday, Sept. 20 against Trine. Match time is set for 12 p.m. ET in Angola, Ind.
