BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team continues its homestand, as the Titans welcome the No. 1 ranked Bears of Washington University in St. Louis to Neis Field on Tuesday, Sept. 3. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.

The Titans are coming off of a competitive opening match against Simpson College on Friday, August 29, which saw the Green and White unable to complete the comeback against the Storm after giving up two early goals. Senior Jenna Gravitt (Morton, Ill.-Morton) scored the second goal of her career in the 58th minute of the match before the Titans were ultimately defeated, 2-1. Sophomore goalkeeper Ella Randall (San Francisco, Calif.-The Bay School of San Francisco) spent 90 minutes in the net and tied a career-high in saves with 11.

The Bears, fresh off of a 2024 National Championship and undefeated season, are 1-0-0 in the new year and carry a 26-match unbeaten streak into Bloomington. WashU, which last lost in the 2023 national championship match, defeated Westminster 8-0 on opening night, August 29, as seven different Bears found the back of the net.

IWU trails WashU in the series history 14-6-5 and suffered a 4-0 loss in the most recent meeting Sept. 17, 2024 in St. Louis, Mo.
