BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - As part of the NCAA Division III Softball National Championship banquet in Uptown Normal Wednesday night, May 28, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association unveiled its All-American teams. Illinois Wesleyan University softball senior shortstop Jen Kuhn (Normal, Ill.-University High) was voted to the NFCA All-America First Team, becoming the 11th selection in program history.

Kuhn joins an exclusive group of former Titans, as she becomes just the fourth in program history to garner First Team status. She is the first since Ally Wiegand reeled in the accolade in 2019.

A four-year starter for Illinois Wesleyan, Kuhn put together a season for the record books in her final tour donning the Green and White. She hit a career-best .449 with 70 hits, 17 doubles, and eight homers, while driving in 57 and scoring 38 runs. Kuhn paced the team in hits, doubles, RBIs, slugging percentage (.712), and on-base percentage (.473). She was second among the Titans in runs scored and tied for second with a career-best eight dingers.

A First Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin pick, Kuhn was a three-time CCIW Hitter of the Week and also snagged First Team All-Region status. Equally as impressive on the defensive side, Kuhn was tabbed the CCIW's Defensive Player of the Year. The sure-handed shortstop owned an outstanding fielding percentage of .983 with just three errors on the season.

Kuhn's tremendous season included some of the best marks in IWU history, while the local product etched her name atop the career records list. She is just the fourth Titan to accrue 66 or more hits, tallying the most in a season since 2018, while her 17 two-baggers tied for the second-most. Kuhn's 57 RBIs are also second in single-season laurels.

The Normal, Ill. product leaves a hefty mark as she graduates as the program's all-time doubles leader with 49. Kuhn tied the career hits mark with 226, holding the record alongside Jillian Runyon. She finishes her storied career third all-time in runs scored (131) and fifth in homers (24).

Kuhn was one of two CCIW players recognized on the postseason teams, as Carthage's Clare Rettler was also voted to the first team as an outfielder.
