BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The fifth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team's pursuit of the program's third national title kicks off Tuesday, May 20, as the Titans tee off at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf National Championship in Penfield, N.Y. The four day event, which will feature a cut after 36 holes, is scheduled for Tuesday-Friday, May 20-23, at Midvale Country Club.

Illinois Wesleyan will be led by a veteran heavy lineup that includes four members from last season's NCAA Championship squad that tied for eighth a season ago. Seniors Griffin Pohl (Western Springs, Ill.-Lyons Township) and Quinn Clifford (Chicago, Ill.-Brother Rice) alongside juniors Michael Spitzer (Hinsdale, Ill.-Hinsdale Central), Juney Bai (Mokena, Ill.-Lincoln-Way Central), and Aidan Healy (New Lenox, Ill.-Lincoln-Way West) will represent the Green and White on the national stage. Clifford, Pohl, and Bai will compete at the NCAA Championship for the third straight season, while Spitzer returns to the national tournament for the second consecutive year. Healy will make his NCAA Championship debut.

At last year's championship event, Pohl tied for third and Spitzer earned a share of eighth to garner All-America honors. IWU's same lineup got an early chance to play the course at the preview back in September. There, the Titans took second (276-277-292=845) with all five players placing in the top-25 individually.

The four-day tournament is scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 20, with the first teams teeing off at 6:45 a.m. ET IWU's first person off the tee will be Healy at 7:35 a.m. ET.
