Women’s Golf Makes the Cut at Nationals

Final round set for tomorrow

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team battled through its final holes of round two to make the cut at the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship Thursday, May 15. With one round to go, IWU sits 15th at 923.

Illinois Wesleyan has posted rounds of 320, 300, 303 at Kingsmill Resort. Freshman Gigi Zera (Glenview, Ill.-Loyola Academy) carded an impressive one-over 73 behind five birdies. The rookie sits tied for 60th at 13-over. Sophomore Nora Cerroni (Waukesha, Wis.-Waukesha North) and senior Macy Ludwig (Effingham, Ill.-St. Anthony) are tied for 82nd.

Second-ranked Emory leads the tournament at 875, with top-ranked Carnegie Mellon in second with a three-round score of 884. No. 16 Middlebury (895), fifth-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (900), and No. 3 George Fox (900) round out the top-five.

Final round play is set for tomorrow, May 17.
