WESTLAKE, Ohio - Illinois Wesleyan University seniors Quinn Clifford (Chicago, Ill.-Brother Rice) and Evelyn Wilson (Geneseo, Ill.-Geneseo) were named to the Allstate NACDA Good Words Spring Team Tuesday morning, April 8. Clifford is a member of the IWU's men's golf team, while Wilson is on the IWU women's track & field team.

The duo were the lone College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin student-athletes on the list and two of 207 nominees. They join Lauren Huber (women's basketball), who was named an Allstate NACDA Good Works Winter nominee, as the first three Titans to be recognized for their community service with the newly expanded award.

Clifford, the program's single-round record holder, won the CCIW Individual Men's Golf Championship in 2023. He is a three-time All-CCIW performer and has earned PING All-Region honors throughout his career. He is a two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-America selection and is a two-time winner of the CCIW Elite 26 Award.

Off the course, Clifford has been active in the community and within the IWU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. The Chicago, Ill. native has volunteered at the Ridge Country Club Junior Golf camp, where he spends one day a week over the course of the summer coaching 6-12 year old aspiring golfers. He has packed meals for Feed My Starving Children, participated in events with the American Red Cross, organized camps for marginalized kids in Chicago, and has participated in countless activities with the Special Olympics. Clifford has promoted bystander intervention to help prevent power-based personal violence through Green Dot training and awareness. Additionally, his service efforts have included working with Westminster Village Retirement Center, Polar Plunge, Center for Hope Food Pantry, and other organizations.

Wilson is an eight-time All-CCIW honoree in the high jump and pole vault events, including a runner-up finish in the high jump at the CCIW Outdoor Championships in 2024. Academically, Wilson was named a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection in 2023 and 2024.

Recently elected IWU's senior class president, Wilson has also served as president of the Sigma Kappa Sorority and the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity, and is a class representative of Illinois Wesleyan's Student Senate.

The Geneseo, Ill. native's community involvement includes assisting with events and participating in monthly visits to Sugar Creek Assisted Living with the Sigma Kappa Sorority. Wilson has participated in Walk to End Alzheimer's, IWU's annual Halloween Canned Food Drive, and Campus Clean-Up with Student Senate. Wilson volunteered with the Humane Society of Central Illinois and annually helps with the High School Track and Field Indoor State Meet hosted at Illinois Wesleyan. Additionally, Wilson served as a teacher's assistant at St. Malachy School and Parish and helps at her alma mater's concession stand at Geneseo High School.

A distinguished selection committee of athletics directors, former athletes and industry leaders will choose the final 20-member team — 10 female and 10 male student-athletes — set to be announced April 29. One student captain will also be named to represent the group. The full list of the 2025 Allstate NACDA Good Works Team (Spring) nominees is now available here.

Expanding recognition across all sports
Announced in December, the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team now recognizes 60 student-athletes annually across fall, winter and spring seasons. The inaugural winter team recently received 193 nominations, with standout Auburn gymnast Sophia Groth named the first female captain ever named for a Good Works Team. As president of Auburn's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Groth has championed community outreach, advocating for student parents completing their degrees through initiatives including Baby Steps.
