Horrocks Named CCIW Defensive Player of the Week

First weekly honor of the seniors career

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – A sweep of College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin action last week was capped off with Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse senior Nick Horrocks (Boulder, Colo.-Fairview) earning CCIW Defensive Player of the Week honors. The conference office announced its selections Tuesday, April 14.

It marks the first weekly award of the senior's career and the fourth honor for the Titans this season. Horrocks joins teammate Colin Tervo (Feb. 25) with defensive honors, while Timothy McHugh was named the offensive selection in back-to-back weeks (March 25, April 1),

Horrocks helped IWU to a 2-0 week in conference play that saw the Green and White defeat North Central College Wednesday, April 9, 19-11, before taking down Carthage College 11-9, Saturday, April 12.

The Boulder, Colo. native had a career day in the Titans' CCIW opener against North Central, setting new game-highs of five caused turnovers and six ground balls before adding one caused turnover and four scoops against Carthage on Saturday.

Illinois Wesleyan will head to Elmhurst University Saturday, April 19, for its next CCIW matchup. Game time at Langhorst Field is set for a noon start.
