NORMAL, Ill. - Thirty-mile per hour wind gusts made warm temperatures feel anything but comfortable Sunday, April 13, on the final day of the Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling out at Ironwood Golf Course. The 18th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team carded a final round score of 315 to card a 617 for the weekend as seven Titans placed in the top-25 individually.

Three Titans placed in the top-10, with sophomore Nora Cerroni (Waukesha, Wis.-Waukesha North) and freshman Gigi Zera (Glenview, Ill.-Loyola Academy) tying for fourth. Senior Jadyn Spinks (Bloomington, Ill.-University High) grabbed a share of eighth. Cerroni and Zera finished with scores of 153, while Spinks' carded IWU's best round of the day, a five-over 77, to climb into the top-10 at 155.

Senior Jacque O'Neill (Harbor Springs, Mich.-Harbor Springs) worked her way into the top-20, carding an 80 to finish with a total of 158. Senior Macy Ludwig (Effingham, Ill.-St. Anthony), junior Brooke Erhard (Champaign, Ill.-St. Thomas More), and sophomore Emily Gastrau (Wauwatosa, Wis.-Wauwatosa East) all tied for 22nd (160). Erhard and Gastrau were the top finishers on Illinois Wesleyan's 'B' team.

No. 10 St. Kate's took home the team title, shooting 607 (299-308) over the two-day event. IWU finished second, while Aurora (306-329=635), Grinnell (306-330=636), and St. Kate's 'B' (320-321=641) closed out the top-five. St Kate's Kyra Venne carded an even-par 72 for the second straight day to earn medalist honors. IWU's 'B' team grabbed 10th-place.

Illinois Wesleyan now centers its focus on the NCAA Division III Women's Golf National Championship. The four-day event is scheduled for May 13-16 at Kingsmill Resort & Spa in Williamsburg, Va.
