Zera Rakes in WGCA All-Region Status

First honor of her career

PALM DESERT, Calif. - Illinois Wesleyan University sophomore women's golfer Gigi Zera (Glenview, Ill.-Loyola Academy) was recognized as a Women's Golf Coaches Association All-Region honoree, announced at the WGCA Banquet, May 18, on site of the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Golf National Championship. It is the first all-region distinction of Zera's career. 

Recently named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Women's Golfer of the Year, Zera is in the midst of a standout sophomore season. In 10 events, Zera has a team-best stroke average of 76.8. The Glenview, Ill. native has four top-five finishes and earned her first career win at the Division II SMSU Classic where she recorded personal-best scores for 18-holes (70) and 36-holes (145). 

Zera joined Carthage's Lexi Manteufel as one of two CCIW women's golfers to be honored in the Great Lakes region.
