Men’s Tennis Falls to Firebirds

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team was shutout in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin contest against Carthage College 7-0, Saturday, April 12. The Titans drop to 5-10 overall and 1-3 in conference play, while Carthage upped its standing to 13-6 (3-1 CCIW).

At No. 1 singles, junior Ian Turnbull (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) won the opening set of his bout, 6-4, but dropped the second, 6-2. In the decisive third set, Turnbull and Carthage's Myles Krzewinski went toe-to-toe, but the Firebirds ultimately took the match, 10-8.

Illinois Wesleyan will wrap up its three-game homestand Wednesday, April 16, with a 3:30 p.m. match against Millikin University at Evergreen Racquet Club.
