Men’s Tennis Sunk by Pioneers

Titans host Carthage tomorrow, April 12, at 10 a.m.

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team stumbled to a 6-1 setback at the hands of Carroll University in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play at Evergreen Racquet Club Friday afternoon, April 11. IWU dips to 5-9 on the season and 1-2 in league play, while CU climbs to 8-7 overall (1-3 CCIW).

Fifth-year Ryan McCoy (Arlington Heights, Ill.-Rolling Meadows) grabbed the Titans' lone point in the match, notching a win at No. 3 singles. McCoy edged out Carroll's Andrew LaBelle by set scores of 6-4 and 6-3. The fifth-year was also part of a win at No. 2 doubles, where he teamed up with sophomore Thad Dillow (Effingham, Ill.-Effingham) for a victory, 7-6 (4).

Illinois Wesleyan gets right back at it tomorrow, April 12, as host to Carthage College. First serve is scheduled for 10 a.m.
