Women’s Golf Wraps Up Play at Westbrook Invite

PEORIA, Ariz. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team took seventh-place at the Westbrook Invitational Sunday, March 9, as the Titans posted a final round 300 on the par-71, 5810-yard Westbrook Village Golf Course. IWU finished the tournament with a two-round total of 610.

Senior Macy Ludwig (Effingham, Ill.-St. Anthony) tied for 19th to pace the Titans with a 36-hole score of 148. Sophomore Nora Cerroni (Waukesha, Wis.-Waukesha North) and senior Jadyn Spinks (Bloomington, Ill.-University High) turned in IWU's best rounds of the day, carding three-over 74s. Cerroni finished with a score of 155, tying for 34th, while Spinks earned a share of 42nd (156).

George Fox, the tournament host, won the event with a team score of even-par, 568. The Bruins' Alison Takamiya and Makensie Toole shared medalist honors, finishing seven-under par (135). Claremont-Mudd Scripps placed second (570), while Emory (575) rounded out the top-three.

The Titans head further west for their second tournament of spring break as IWU travels to Palm Desert, Calif. For the Augustana (SD) Spring Fling Invite at Desert Willow Thursday-Friday, March 13-14.
