Women’s Golf Finishes Day One of Westbrook Invitational

Titans sit tied for sixth

PEORIA, Ariz. - Making its return to the links for the 2025 portion of its season, the No. 19 Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team concluded day one of the Westbrook Invitational, hosted by George Fox University, Saturday, March 8. The Titans sit tied for sixth out of the tough 10-team tournament taking place on Westbrook Village Golf Course in Peoria, Ariz.

IWU finished the first day of the two-day tournament with a score of 310, 26 strokes over par. Sixth-ranked George Fox leads the pack after firing a one-over 285. Top-seeded Emory University is second at 290, six-over par, followed by No. 10 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at a seven-over 291.

Senior Macy Ludwig (Effingham, Ill.-St. Anthony) leads the Titans after shooting a two-over 73, sitting tied for eighth. Sophomore Emily Gastrau (Wauwatosa, Wis.-Wauwatosa East) is tied for 28th after firing a six-over 77.

IWU will begin to tee off at 8:22 a.m. Sunday, March 9.
