Kuhn Rakes in CCIW Hitter of the Week Award

Third weekly award of her career

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - For the second time this season, senior Jen Kuhn (Normal, Ill.-University) earned College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Hitter of the Week honors Monday, March 24.

Kuhn continued her torrid start to the season at the plate over four games, March 18-22. Kuhn hit a whopping .643 with nine hits in 14 at bats over a pair of doubleheaders against Monmouth College and No. 11 Trine University. She tied for the team-lead with five runs scored and drove in a team-high 10 RBIs, while notching three doubles and hitting a three-run homer. Kuhn boasted a slugging percentage of 1.071 over the four-game stretch alongside a .625 on-base percentage.

She began the week with a 4-for-4 effort that included three RBIs and a pair of runs scored in a run-rule win at Monmouth, March 18. The Normal, Ill. native went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs and two driven in in game two. Following a 1-for-3 showing in game one against No. 11 Trine that included a run-scoring double, Kuhn went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer and four RBIs in a narrow loss to the Thunder.

Illinois Wesleyan is back in action this Wednesday, March 26, with a road doubleheader at Illinois College. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
