Inside Lacrosse Release

BALTIMORE, Md. – Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse fifth-year Gage Black (Peoria, Ill.-Dunlap) has been named to the Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-American Honorable Mention list for the second straight season.

Continuing to add to his resume which already includes two USILA All-America Honorable Mention awards, a pair of First Team IMLCA All-Region 5 selections at midfield, and three all-conference honors, Black kicks off his fifth season donning the Green and White with preseason praise.

Black played a crucial role in last season's sweep of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Regular Season and Tournament titles and the Titans' run to the NCAA Tournament. Playing all 18 games of the 2024 season, Black led the team with 71 points and 51 goals.

Black is coming off a record-breaking 2024 season as he set new program records in single-season man-up goals with 14, a mark that ranked second across Division III last season, bringing his career man-up goals total to 32, another program record for the then-senior.

The CCIW saw representation with just two individuals as Elmhurst attack Eli Spence joined Black on the honorable mention list.

Illinois Wesleyan officially kicks off the 2025 season in Nashville, Tenn. at the Music City Classic Feb. 15-16. The Titans will face Transylvania on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 4:45 p.m. before taking on Centre on Sunday at 2 p.m.
