Swim and Dive Heads to Olivet Nazarene for Pair of Battles

Titans to take on ONU and North Central

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's swim and dive team will head to Olivet Nazarene University for a pair of duals Saturday, Nov. 8. The Titans will take on ONU and College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin foe North Central College inside Perry Center with a 10 a.m. start time. 

The Green and White enter the weekend off a stellar performance at the Monmouth Invite Saturday, Nov. 1. The women's team took home a first-place finish, notching the first win in the Dan Lloyd era, while the men's team turned in a runner-up performance. IWU recorded 12 first-place finishes and 23 top-three performances. 

Entering the weekend, Illinois Wesleyan holds a top-three time in the conference in 12 events this season. Sophomore Tate Thomas (Joliet, Ill.-West Aurora) leads the CCIW in the men's 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:47.21, and is third in the 500-yard freestyle (4:57.32). On the women's side, senior Natalie Porter (Danville, Ill.-Danville) ranks second in both the 200 free (2:01.98) and 500 free (5:25.83). Junior Sam Borre (Hoffman Estates, Ill.-James B. Conant) sits second in 200-yard backstroke (2:16.06), and third in the 50-yard backstroke (29.57) and 100-yard backstroke (1:03.47). Senior Kayleigh Kusckewski (Batavia, Ill.-Batavia) holds the third-best time in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:35.16) and 200-yard individual medley (2:18.93). Freshman Ellen Hoover (Naperville, Ill.-Naperville Central) has made an immediate impact for the Titans, as she ranks third in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:24.59. IWU's 200 free relay is third with a time of 1:46.16, and also sits third in the 400 free relay (3:50.34). 

Action is set to begin inside ONU's Perry Center at 10 a.m. Results will be posted on iwusports.com upon the completion of the contest.
