Johnston Ranked Fifth in Region VI in NCAA Division III Regional Rankings

It’s the third straight regional ranking for Johnston dating back to last season

MANHEIM, Pa. - In the season-opening National Wrestling Coaches Association's Men's Division III Regional Rankings, Illinois Wesleyan University junior Austin Johnston (Normal, Ill.-Normal West) is ranked fifth in Region VI in the 141-pound weight class. The full rankings can be found here.

Johnston continues his presence in the NWCA polls. Last season, he was ranked in two of the three in-season polls. In 2024-25, Johnston went 17-15 with seven pins. He also was the runner-up in the Eight Man Battles at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the 131-pound weight class and finished fifth in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin tournament.

The Titans open their season Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Millikin Open. The first home dual meet is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 17 at the Shirk Center against No. 10 North Central College.
