BLOOMINGTON, Ill.- The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team turns its attention to Carroll University for the final road test of the regular season Saturday, Oct. 25 in Waukesha, Wis. IWU comes into the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin match at 10-2-3 (4-1-1 CCIW) good enough for second place in the league with 13 points, one ahead of North Central College. Away from their own pitch, the Titans are unbeaten at 5-0-2.

The Green and White clinched its spot in the CCIW Tournament with a 1-1 draw against North Central Wednesday, Oct. 22. It marks the program's third straight appearance at the league's tournament, a run that has included its first-ever tournament championship in 2023. Another milestone was reached Wednesday night, as senior goalkeeper Sam Kedzior (Cary, Ill.-Cary Grove) eclipsed 250 saves in his career, marking the first ever Titan to reach the benchmark. Junior Joey Rodino (Palatine, Il) was the sole goal scorer for IWU with his third goal of the year, the most he has scored in a season while donning the Green and White.

Illinois Wesleyan's prolific attack ranks first in the CCIW in total points, assists, and scoring offense. The three-headed attack of juniors Ryder Coleman (Bannockburn, Ill.-Deerfield), and Matthew Perchick (Glenview, Ill.-New Trier) to go along with sophomore Ben Lyons (Orland Park,-Carl Sandburg) anchors the Titans with Coleman and Lyons providing the most points with 14 each. Perchik, who assisted on Rodino's goal at NCC, lurks behind the front runners with 13 points.

Kedzior, the all-time saves leader in IWU soccer history, inserts himself at the top of goalkeeper statistics in the conference. The senior netminder leads the CCIW in goals against average (.978), and second in save percentage (.806) along with shutouts (three). Kedzior has carded 58 saves and allowed 14 goals on the year.

Carroll sits in a tie for fourth in the league, alongside North Park University with nine points apiece. The Pios have played to a 6-8-1 record and 3-4-0 in the CCIW. On the pitch of Schneider Stadium, CU is a game under .500 at 3-4. Over the last week, the Pios have dropped a pair of 1-2 matches to NPU and first-place Wheaton College. Freshman midfielder Iskander Sharipov leads the Carroll attack with seven goals along with his 14 points. Uriel Garcia guards the net allowing 18 goals, collecting 44 saves at a .710 save percentage.

The Green and White used a six-game win streak midway through the 2010s to boost its head-to-head record against Carroll as it owns a 6-2-3 advantage. The two met twice last year, once in the regular season and once in the playoffs, as they split the decisions with IWU besting the Pios on penalty kicks, 7-6 in the CCIW Tournament. CU took the regular season match 3-nil in Bloomington. The last Titan outright win came in a 2-1 match in 2021 in Waukesha.

Illinois Wesleyan concludes its road slate Saturday with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. at Schneider Stadium. Live stats will be available here, to go along with a live stream provided here .
