BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team will begin the spring portion of the season at Wabash College for two matches Saturday, Feb. 1. The Titans (0-1) will face the Little Giants before taking on Cedarville University in a neutral site contest in Crawfordsville, Ind.

Illinois Wesleyan returns to competition for the first time since Sept. 21, 2024, where it saw juniors Ian Turnbull (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) and Ben Vigneri (Casper, Wyo.-Phillips Exeter Academy) participate in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional. The two made it to the consolation round of 16 in doubles action. In individual play, Vigneri advanced to the consolation round of 16, while Turnbull made it to the consolation round of 32.

The Titans will meet Wabash on the courts for the 12th time since 2000, with IWU holding a 7-4 lead in the series. The Green and White have taken the last two, including the most recent on March 10, 2020. Illinois Wesleyan took a 9-0 win while on a spring break trip in Orlando, Fla. Wabash will play its first dual match of the 2024-25 season, and its first contest of the new year.

IWU looks to secure its first win over Division II Cedarville (3-4), as the Yellow Jackets own a 5-0 advantage over the Titans, dating back to 2019. The two teams last faced off Feb. 4, 2023, with CU pulling off the 5-1 win. Cedarville will also make its 2025 debut, as the Yellow Jackets last competed Oct. 8, 2024, where they dropped a 4-3 decision to Indiana Tech.
