BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - After a Thursday night win against Eureka College, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team is set for its second home game of the season against Blackburn College, Sunday, Sept. 8. The Titans and the Beavers are set to kick off at 3:30 p.m.

With an impromptu Thursday night home game against Eureka, the Titans took the win over the Red Devils in a closely played match. The game remained scoreless into the 78th minute until freshman Ben Lyons (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg) nailed a shot on frame. Despite Lyons's shot being batted away by the Red Devils goalkeeper, freshman Elsworth McIntosh (Lake in the Hills, Ill.-Harry D. Jacobs) powered the rebound into the back of the net to put the Green and White in front, 1-nil. With the win, the Titans are now 1-0-1 on the season.

Blackburn is still looking for its first win as BC is 0-1-2 so far this season. The Beavers tied its first two games against Anderson and Earlham, 1-1, but took a 2-nil loss to Cornell College Thursday night. Blackburn will play Knox College Friday night, a team IWU will face later this season, before setting its sights on Neis Field for Sunday's matchup.

The Titans and the Beavers have a lengthy history dating back to 1988, with the Green and White taking the overall record of 12-3 against Blackburn. The last meeting between the two teams was 21 years ago in 2003, when the Titans took a 3-2 win over the Beavers.

Sunday's Kick off is set for 3:30 p.m. on Neis Field. You can find the live stats by clicking here, and the live stream here. Both links are also available on the men's soccer schedule page of iwusports.com.
