BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team welcomes Augustana College at Neis Field Wednesday, Sept. 30. The Titans are 4-1-2 (0-0-1 CCIW), and hold a five-game unbeaten streak going into Wednesday's contest.
Illinois Wesleyan is coming off Saturday's College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's opener at North Central College. The Green and White was down 1-0 just 23 minutes into the first half, but five minutes later junior Blye Brickman (Edwardsville, Ill.-Edwardsville) notched his first career goal to equalize the contest. The second half didn't see any scores but the action was still there with the Titans seeing six shots and three corner kicks. Senior Owen Boukalik (Northville, Mich.-Northville) had two saves in the contest.
IWU found themselves in the national rankings amongst Division III schools. IWU is ranked second in shots per game (23.43), eighth in shutout percentage (0.714), and 14th in team goals against average (0.429). Individually, Boukalik is ranked 18th in the nation and first in the CCIW in goals against average with a 0.364. He is also ranked 37th nationally in shutouts with three. Illinois Wesleyan is ranked third in the CCIW in scoring average as a team, just under North Central and Millikin University. The Titans have the most shots in the CCIW with 164 and have allowed the fewest goals with three.
The Titans hold the all-time series over the Vikings 19-18-3 with a home record of 13-10-1. IWU is currently on a seven-game winning streak over Augustana, not dropping a contest against the AC since 2018. In their last meeting, the Titans beat Augustana 2-1 on Oct. 2025. The Vikings are 3-1-3 overall and hold a 0-0-1 CCIW record. Augustana opened its CCIW conference slate against Carroll University. The contest ended in a 0-0 draw, despite Carroll having 12 shots and Augustana's 11. The Vikings have allowed the second fewest goals in all the CCIW with four, however, the Vikings have the second fewest goals and the least assists in the conference.
