Kickoff set for 7 p.m.

9/3/2024 12:00:00 PM

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team readies for its second road game this season against Eureka College. The match is set for Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. on Traister Field.

The Titans go into Wednesday's game with a record of 0-0-1, while the Red Devils hold a 1-1 record with a 2-1 victory against Beloit and a 3-0 loss to Benedictine.

The Green and White opened its season at Kalamazoo College this past Friday, Aug. 30, and found itself needing to dig out of an early Hornets lead. With 10 minutes left in the game, junior Kalabi Kamau (Alpharetta, Ga.-Marist School) found the back of the net to end the game in a 1-1 draw. Junior goalkeeper Sam Kedzior (Cary, Ill.-Cary Grove) garnered two saves during his 90 minutes between the posts.

This is the first time that the Red Devils and the Titans will meet on the pitch. IWU will see a familiar face on the opposing sideline, as Austin Woodside, a member of the Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team from 2018-21, is now an assistant men's soccer coach at Eureka.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Live stats for the game can be found here.
