Chudy Named CCIW Runner of the Week

Earns weekly honor in back-to-back weeks

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – For the second straight week, Illinois Wesleyan University women's cross country senior Annalese Chudy (Libertyville, Ill.-Libertyville) has been recognized as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Runner of the Week. The league office announced its selections Tuesday, Sept. 24.

Chudy's latest CCIW weekly award comes after the senior turned in the highest finish by any CCIW runner at Wheaton College's Gil Dodds Invitational last Saturday, Sept. 21. Chudy moved into the field's top-five runners early on in the race before turning in a fourth-place finish in a time of 22:29.30.

The meet featured 19 scoring teams, including six of the nine CCIW institutions, and over 220 runners. Chudy's effort helped lead IWU to a fourth-place team finish with 135 points.

IWU will take a short break from competition before heading to Terre Haute, Ind. for the DIII Pre-Nationals meet, Friday, Oct. 4.
