Midweek matchup set for 4 p.m.

9/23/2024 1:00:00 PM

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - With its best start since 2012, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team is set to travel to Lake Forest College this Wednesday, Sept. 25 for a midweek matchup against the Foresters. The game is set for 4 p.m. on Mohr Field in Lake Forest, Ill.

The Titans are 5-0-1 on the 2024 season marking the best start Illinois Wesleyan has had since the 2012 team started its season 6-0. IWU most recently took on Knox College in a 1-nil win where sophomore Ryder Coleman (Bannockburn, Ill.-Deerfield) smashed the ball into the back of the net, thanks to an assist from sophomore Faheem Mujahid (St. Robert, Mo.-Waynesville) with only ten minutes left in the game to keep the Titans' win streak alive.

Lake Forest is 1-5-2 on the year thus far, most recently taking on Dominican University where they were an even match at 1-1. The Foresters have not seen a win since mid-September when they took down Wisconsin Lutheran 1-0.

The Titans and the Foresters have only a brief history with Lake Forest taking the overall record of 2-0. The two teams met last season, Sept. 16, 2023, where LFC took the win over IWU 2-0.
