BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Riding the high of its best start to the season in more than a decade, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team will take on Knox College Saturday, Sept. 21. Kickoff is set for 3:30 on Nies Field.

Saturday's game is being played in honor of children and teens who have experienced a pediatric brain tumor or cancer diagnosis. This season, the men's soccer team has partnered with the pediatric brain tumor foundation's VS. CANCER program to raise funds for child life programs and pediatric brian cancer research. Since 2013, VS. CANCER has worked with thousands of athletes to fight the deadliest disease facing our country's children – pediatric cancer.

IWU is going into Saturday's game 4-0-1, and is coming off of a 3-nil win against Monmouth College, Sept. 18. Sophomore Matthew Perchik (Glenview, Ill.-New Trier) and junior Logan Tierney (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) both had goals with Perchik scoring two in the second half.

Knox has a 2-4-1 overall record with its last competition being against College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin foe, North Central College, where the Cardinals overpowered the Prairie Fire, 6-0.

The Green and White and KC have met a total of 13 times in the past, dating all the way back to 1995. The most recent game was last season, Sept. 19, 2023, where Knox took the win over the Titans, 3-1.

Saturday's kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. on Neis Field. You can find the live stats by clicking here, and the live stream here. Both links are also available on the men's soccer schedule page of iwusports.com.
