CCIW Release

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – For the first time in her career, Illinois Wesleyan University women's cross country senior Annalese Chudy (Libertyville, Ill.-Libertyville) was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Runner of the Week after a stellar performance at the Division I Redbird Invite last week. The league office announced its selections Tuesday, Sept. 17.

In Friday night's cross-town race at Illinois State University, Chudy clocked a 22:53.60 effort to finish among the top 20 in the 89-person field, the highest-finishing Division III runner in 19th-place. The senior led the way for the Titans' seventh-place finish in the 11-team field that featured nine Division I schools.

Chudy's performance at this year's Redbird Invite bested her efforts a season ago where she finished 52nd in 23:43.70. Her 22:53.60 time is the fastest by any CCIW runner so far this season for the six-kilometer.

Chudy and the Titans will head north to Warrenville, Ill. for Wheaton College's Gil Dodds Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 21.
