Men's Golf Takes Fourth at Folds of Honor

Four Titans inside top-20

ALLENDALE, Mich. - Led by top-10 finishes by juniors Michael Spitzer (Hinsdale, Ill.-Hinsdale Central) and Juney Bai (Mokena, Ill.-Lincoln-Way Central), the eighth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team placed fourth at the Folds of Honor Challenge at The Meadows Golf Club Tuesday, Sept. 17. IWU posted a final-round 287, its best score of the three-day tournament, to finish with an 871.

Event host, Grand Valley State took home the team title with a score of 862. Aurora placed second at 864, with Mississippi Gulf Coast rounding out the top-three with a score of 868.

Illinois Wesleyan saw four Titans post top-20 finishes individually. Spitzer led the way with a third-place finish as he carded a three-under 68 to finish even for the tournament at 213. Bai grabbed a share of sixth with a score of 216. 

Seniors Quinn Clifford (Chicago, Ill.-Brother Rice) and Griffin Pohl (Western Springs, Ill.-Lyons Township) tied for 12th and 19th, respectively. Clifford fired an even-par 71, his best round of the event, to record a final tally of 220. 

The Green and White now turns its attention to the NCAA Division III Preview, Sept. 21-23. Illinois Wesleyan will get an early look at Midvale Country Club and Cobblestone Creek Country Club, the site of the 2025 NCAA Division III National Championship.
