NORMAL, Ill. - The senior quarter of Kylie Hundman (Bloomington, Ill.-Central Catholic), Jadyn Spinks (Bloomington, Ill.-University High), Macy Ludwig (Effingham, Ill.-St. Anthony), and Jacque O'Neill (Harbor Springs, Mich.-Harbor Springs) led the Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team in the opening round of play at the IWU Fall Classic at the par-72, 5823-yard Ironwood Golf Course. The eighth-ranked Titans carded a score of 296, finishing eight-over par, to sit second in the 19-team field.

Hundman used four birdies to fire a career-best two-under 70. The Bloomington, Ill. native is tied for second in the 124-player field, just one stroke off the lead held by WashU's Tiffany Chan. Spinks carded an even-par 72 and is tied for fifth as the top performer on Illinois Wesleyan's 'B' team.

Ludwig and O'Neill are tied for 10th and 19th, respectively. Ludwig turned in a birdie on her final hole of the day to record a 73, finishing one-over par. O'Neill carded a three-over 76.

WashU tops the team leaderboard after firing a three-under 285. Illinois Wesleyan is second at 296, with Grinnell in third at 297. St. Mary's ranks fourth with a 305, while UW-Whitewater and Illinois Wesleyan's 'B' team are tied for fifth with scores of 309.

Final round action is scheduled for tomorrow, Sept. 15, with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Live results will be available through Golfstat, while final results will be posted to iwusports.com following the end of competition.
