CCIW Release

NORMAL, Ill. -
For the fourth time in her career, senior Macy Ludwig (Effingham, Ill.-St. Anthony) has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday morning, Sept. 11. Ludwig is the first Titan to receive the award this season.

The award comes following Ludwig's record-setting performance at the Redbird Invitational, hosted by Illinois State University. In a 93-player field composed primarily of Division I competitors, Ludwig shot three straight rounds of even-par to card a 54-hole total of 216. The Effingham, Ill. product placed fifth as one of four golfers in the field to go par-or-better in each of the three rounds. Ludwig set the program's 54-hole scoring record in the process, breaking the previous mark of 218 set by Emma Thorman at the 2023 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship.

Behind Ludwig's strong performance, the Green and White defeated three Division I teams in the 12-team event. The eighth-ranked Titans bested Indiana State, IU Indy, and Valparaiso. The Green and White's 'B' team also beat Valpo, as the group carded a 319 to post a total of 953.

Illinois Wesleyan returns to action this weekend, Sept. 14-15, as host of the IWU Fall Classic at Ironwood Golf Course. Each day will begin with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
