BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team is coming off of a high from its previous season taking home the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin tournament trophy and heading to its first-ever NCAA tournament. The Titans are scheduled to open its season on the road Friday, Aug. 31 at Kalamazoo College. Game time is set for 4 p.m. ET on MacKenzie Field.

Head coach Kyle Schauls, the program's all-time coaching wins leader, enters his 11th season at the helm. Assistant coach Chad Jones enters his second season with the Green and White in addition to becoming the assistant women's soccer coach in his first year.

Returning junior keeper Sam Kedzior (Cary, Ill.-Cary Grove) was a Second Team All-CCIW selection a year ago and will look to continue building on his previous seasons. In his junior campaign, Kedzior led the Green and White with 84 saves and four shutouts. Sole captain senior Will McNulty (Glen Ellyn, Ill.-Glenbard West) will be a key contributor to this year's team alongside fellow seniors Declan Nugent (Naperville, Ill.-Neuqua Valley) and Mush Bakirdan (Morton, Ill.-Morton). The Titans also return their top scorer from the 2023 season in sophomore Faheem Mujahid (Saint Robert, Mo.-Waynesville). In his freshman campaign, Mujahid totaled 12 points on six goals.

Friday will be the first time the Titans see freshman Tyler Balon (LaGrange, Ill.-Lyons Township), Brandon Cotteleer (St. Charles, Ill.-St. Charles North), Elsworth McIntosh (Lake in the Hills, Harry D. Jacobs), Hayden Shumaker (Decatur, Ill.-Mt. Zion), Ben Lyons (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg), Gavin Young (Bloomington, Ill.-Central Catholic), and sophomore transfer Joey Rodino (Palatine, Ill.-Fremd) show out for their first collegiate debut.
