GREENWOOD, Ind. - Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse senior
Ethan Hart (Littleton, Colo.-J.K. Mullen) was named a College Sports Communicators Academic All-America At-Large Third Team selection, Wednesday, July 17. Hart is joined by IWU men's golfers Quinn Clifford, Bobby Beaubien, and Griffin Pohl on the at-large teams.
With the addition of four honorees named to at-large teams, Illinois Wesleyan's total Academic All-America selections has grown to 160, which ranks in the top-25 across all NCAA divisions and is in the top-10 among Division III institutions.
Hart, becomes only the third CSC Academic All-America selection in IWU men's lacrosse history, joining the likes of J.C. Grabarek who earned Third Team distinction in back-to-back years (2018 & 2019).
In total, 14 of the 45 Division III Academic All-America selections were men's lacrosse student-athletes. Additionally, the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin saw seven student-athletes earn the honor with IWU's four selections leading the way while Augustana College had two and North Central College had one.
Now adding CSC Academic All-America to his resume, Hart picked up his second Academic All-District honor earlier this month and was also named the CCIW Elite 26 Award recipient for the second consecutive season. Majoring in accounting with a minor in finance, Hart was recognized by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association as a School All-American after serving a crucial role on the Titan's defense. The senior defender had the third-most caused turnovers on the team with 21 and the fourth-most ground balls with 48 scoops.
