LOUISVILLE, Ky. –  A trio of Titans from the Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Scholar All-American team as seniors Michael Campagna (Arlington Heights, Ill.-Saint Viator), Ethan Hart (Littleton, Colo.-J.K. Mullen), and Alex Oximana (Seattle, Wash.-Bishop Blanchet) earned the distinction. Additionally, the Green and White was recognized with the USILA Team Academic Award, the organization announced Thursday, June 13.

In order to be nominated for Scholar All-American status, a student-athlete must be a senior with a grade point average of 3.0 or better, and have received all-conference accolades. Nominees are then voted on by the organization's Scholar All-American committee.

The nominating criteria for the USILA Team Academic Award includes a team GPA of 3.0 or higher for the academic year.

Campagna, a business major, continues to reel in postseason awards to add to his already impressive resume. The senior defender was unrelenting for the Titan defense as he led the Green and White with 33 caused turnovers–the second-most in a single season for IWU. Campagna's 51 ground balls was the third-most on the team this season on his way to USILA All-America Honorable Mention and the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Defensive Player of the Year Award. Campagna earned First Team All-CCIW honors after being named to the second team in the previous two seasons.

Hart was a force in the classroom and on the field, majoring in accounting and minoring in finance. The senior defender had the third-most caused turnovers on the team with 21 and the fourth-most ground balls with 48 scoops. Hart was named an All-CCIW Second Team honoree and was recognized as the CCIW Elite 26 Award recipient for the second-straight season, awarded to the student-athlete with the highest GPA competing in the CCIW Championship game.

Oximana, a kinesiology and allied health major with a minor in business, earned Scholar All-America status alongside Campagna and Hart. Oximana was the 2024 CCIW RESPECT Award recipient and a 2022 First Team All-CCIW selection. Oximana appeared between the posts in 12 games and totaled 42 saves with a 10.61 goals against average. The senior goalie posted a .553 save percentage on the year.

As a team, Illinois Wesleyan was recognized with the USILA Team Academic Award, and was one of three schools in the CCIW to do so, as Carthage College and Elmhurst University also made the list. The Titan trio were among nine CCIW student-athletes to earn Scholar All-American honors.
