WAUKESHA, Wis. - Playing in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament Quarterfinals, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team saw its season end in the as the Titans were eliminated by Augustana College, 5-0, Thursday, May 2. IWU finishes the season with a 9-10 overall record.
Sophomore
Ian Turnbull (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) and senior
Ryan McCoy (Arlington Heights, Ill.-Rolling Meadows) put up a fight against Augie's top doubles pair, but ultimately fell 8-6.
In singles action, McCoy was amid a battle at No. 3 singles when Augustana Clinched the match. Trailing 6-5 in the first set, McCoy was fighting to push the set to a tiebreaker. Freshman
Thad Dillow (Effingham, Ill.-Effingham) dropped his first set, 6-1, and was looking to take the second, as he trailed 4-3 when the match concluded.
