NAPERVILLE, Ill. – For the third straight week, Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse has garnered College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Player of the Week honors as senior Michael Campagna (Arlington Heights, Ill.-Saint Viator) was named the Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday, April 9.

Campagna becomes the third Titan this season to pick up a weekly award as Trystan Seeley and Colin Tervo earned distinctions the previous two weeks.

Campagna's impressive defensive efforts helped IWU to a 2-0 week with wins over the University of Dubuque and CCIW foe, Augustana College. Campagna anchored a defense that allowed only 14 goals compared to the Titans' 39. In IWU's 16-11 win over UD, Campagna accrued seven ground balls to tie his single-game career-high while causing an impressive five turnovers, marking a new career-best for the senior.

The Arlington Heights, Ill. native ranks third in the conference with 2.20 caused turnovers per game with 22 total caused turnovers so far this season.

IWU heads to North Central College Wednesday, April 10 for a CCIW matchup. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
