Rocco Named CCIW Defensive Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin released its final installment of weekly awards Tuesday, April 30 as Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse sophomore Michael Rocco (Libertyville, Ill.-Libertyville) earned this week's Defensive Player of the Week distinction. 

Rocco is the fifth Titan this season to earn weekly honors following Noah Dretzka, Michael Campagna, Trystan Seeley, and Colin Tervo

In the 29-4 win over Carroll University on Saturday, April 27, Rocco matched his career-high with 16 faceoff wins on 24 attempts while accruing three ground balls. In the final quarter, Rocco won the opening faceoff and took it straight to the crease for an uncontended goal, the first of his career. 

IWU is set to host Carthage College Wednesday, May 1 for a CCIW semifinal match at 7:30 p.m. inside Tucci Stadium.
